Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Virginia-Highland

Robbery reported around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night

A Virginia-Highland man was robbed at gunpoint late Sunday, June 3.

The man told police he was walking at the corner of N. Highland Ave. NE and Glen Arden Ave. NE around 11:30 p.m. when two men pulled him to the ground, dragged him a few feet and forced him to lay face down on the ground.

One of the suspects searched the victim’s pockets while the other pointed what is believed to be a silver 357 revolver at the victim, according to a police report.

The suspects stole the victim’s car keys, house keys and his Motorola Droid cell phone, according to the report.

The victim told police the men were looking for cash and threw his debit and credit cards to the ground when looking through his wallet.

The man was then told by the suspects to “run and take a right” on N. Highland Avenue., and the victim ran to , 1000 Virginia Ave., where the bartender called police.

Police officers canvassed the area but failed to find the suspects. 

The suspects are described as two black men, both in their late teens to early 20s. One man is believed to be about six-feet-tall, slim build and a low cut hair. The other man is believed to have a Mohawk and could be carrying a silver handgun.

This robbery is believed to be unrelated to the early Monday morning
