seems like a pretty easy determination of fault - SUV was traveling North and turned onto Amsterdam - if it turned left, it turned in front of the motorcycle - SUV's fault unless they were turning on the arrow. If they turned right, motorcycle failed to yield - motorcycle's fault. Why do I have the feeling they turned left after the arrow and right in front of the motorcycle?

not really - and I didn't think there was an arrow at that light. Even so, if the SUV turned left - yes, their fault (unless the motorcyclist ran a red light). If SUV turned right on red, still SUV's fault for not yielding to oncoming traffic (again assuming the motorcyclist had the green light). So, will be interesting to hear what really happened.

No turn arrow there, some times sketchy left turn if someone traveling south is also waiting to turn. Can't see

He is NOT dead -- but in critical condition. I called Grady on Monday after not hearing from him since Friday night (I saw him at 9pm right before he drove off...) Lots of prayers...long road to recovery ahead. Going to see him again tonight.

No left turn arrow at that light. More than likely SUV driver texting or some other form of rectal-cranial inversion. I ride down Highland all the time, and I'm always on the lookout for idiot drivers.
