News Nearby: Pedestrian Gunned Down in East Atlanta
Patrick Cotrona, 33, was fatally shot Saturday night while walking down May Avenue, near the East Atlanta bar district. A friend was wounded.
In East Atlanta, police are increasing street patrols after the Saturday night shooting death of a pedestrian.
Authorities said a man approached three men about 11 p.m. on May Avenue, just off the bustling East Atlanta bar district. For unknown reasons, the man shot and killed Patrick Cotrona, 33, and wounded a second man before fleeing.
This was the second shooting in a week in East Atlanta. Community leaders urged stepped-up police protection and vowed to find the killer.
