Report: Woman Takes Purse, Hides Stolen Money in Pants

Incident reported at 2 a.m. Thursday morning in Virginia-Highland

A woman stole a purse off the back of a chair at early Thursday and hid the stolen cash in her pants, according to a police report.

The purse belonged to the perpetrator's friend, who realized it was missing when she went to leave the bar around 2.a.m. on Thursday, July 19.

According to the police report, the purse was found stuffed inside the perpetrator’s bag, but about $1,700 was missing from the victim's wallet, she told the police.

The woman was charged with theft by taking and transported to Fulton County Jail.

The purse was returned to the rightful owner at the scene.
