Another shooting has taken place inside Room Service Lounge.

The restaurant/club, sandwiched between Buckhead and the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhoods in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood at 1937 Piedmont Circle, has been a source of contention for area residents ever since it opened a few years ago.

WSB-TV reported last month, "the Atlanta Police License and Review Board voted to suspend Room Service Lounge’s liquor license for 360 days and fine it more than $12,000 after finding five code violations." Local residents have since asked Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed to sign off on the recommendation.

Atlanta City Councilman Alex Wan told the news outlet, “It has been a problem for the community ever since it opened.”

The most recent incident occurred last weekend at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Saturday. Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones told Patch that responding officers arrived at the club to find a man who had been shot in the buttocks in the bathroom of the establishment.

Police say the victim, who was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, was uncooperative and only gave a description of the alleged suspects as “two black males.”

Last summer, a man was shot inside Room Service Lounge and responding officers found him “suffering from multiple gunshot wounds."

In 2011, a man was shot several times after an argument broke out in a VIP room at the club.

In her story last month, WSB’s Rachel Stockman “dug through 38 pages of police calls, provided by neighbors, where the lounge was mentioned and found reports of assaults, thefts and alcohol license violations.”

What a surprise! This place really needs to be shut down as it brings no value to our neighborhood and is only a hot bed for thuggish behavior. The property taxes are too high in this area to allow this type of business to exist.

Um, mayor?

Mr. Mayor is not interested! Pretty clear by his inactions. I have not read any reported incidents related to the Motel directly across the street from this Club. The clientele appears to be quite questionable and possibly the same folks who party in the Club. That entire corner is eaily accessible via exit road, isolated among businesses and a collection of seedy folks. Can anyone share if there is a connection between the Motel, renters and the Club? Seems like a connected hot-spot to me. Our Mayor selects his involvement in community matters very carefully and to his political benefit. Nothing to be gained with our community struggles, here. Make him mad and he'll ignore us all together. Remember his anger when he botched the Snow preparations. Came out fighting. Saw a true side of him.
