Atlanta residents spoke out Thursday night about the city’s alcohol code and problems with the current process to obtain a liquor license.
The meeting at was one of several community meetings organized by a committee — the Alcohol Technical Advisory Group (ATAG) II — charged with revamping the alcohol code and process for liquor licenses city-wide.
The committee is made up of city council members, lawyers and residents from around the city.
The group will make a recommendation to city council about changes to the licensing and laws around selling alcohol. A time frame for the recommendation is unclear and the group is prepared to meet through the end of the year.
