Emory Point Stores and Eateries Open their Doors

Retail and restaurant spaces in the new mixed-use development are starting to fill up.

The Emory Point development has seen a flurry of new business openings in recent weeks, with about a dozen shops and restaurants now operating and several more close to opening their doors.

On Friday, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches will open for business, according to the Facebook page for the mixed use development on Clifton Road, just across from the entrance to the Centers for Disease Control. On Thursday, employees were busy training for opening day.

Other recent openings include Strippaggio, which opened Friday, and Marlow’s Tavern, which opened earlier this week and had a line of people waiting to be seated for lunch on Thursday, despite the pouring rain.

Celia Turner, the founder of Strippaggio, a shop specializing in artisanal oils, vinegars and other foods, said interest in the new eateries and shops has been good.

Other businesses listed as coming soon include La Tagliatella, Paradise Biryani, Francesca’s, Fresh to Order foods and a CVS drugstore.

The first phase of Emory Point will cost more than $100 million to complete and includes 443 luxury apartments and 80,000 square-feet of retail space. Atlanta-based Cousins Properties is partnering with Atlanta-based Gables Residential on the project.
