Four local students to perform with symphony

Four students will perform with the DeKalb Youth Symphony on Wednesday, May 9.

Gaelin Baldwin, Olivia Pool, John Thesing and Nancy Thesing will perform in the Spring Concert at Georgia Perimeter College, Clarkston campus.

Admission is free and donations are accepted.

Some of the spring concert selections include Overture to The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Prelude to the Meistersingers of Nurnberg by Richard Wagner, and Kol Nidrei, op.47 by Max Bruch featuring our concerto competition winner, Conner Hart on cello.

The DeKalb Youth Symphony, under the direction of Earl Kuutti, is the honor orchestra for DeKalb County Schools. The orchestra is made up of more than 70 musicians, ages 13-18, from public middle schools and high schools throughout the county.
