The community is invited to a meeting with the purpose of establishing a group of Virginia-Highlands community members who are interested in protecting Springdale Park Elementary, Inman Middle School, and Grady High School as the designated public schools for the children of Virginia-Highlands. The group will help educate and rally the community about the redistricting plan, try to build consensus among Virginia-Highland residents, and provide a strong and unified voice at future APS and SPARK meetings.
This meeting is not to discuss alternative solutions to the proposals and alliances with other communities. Nor will it serve as a political forum. What will be accomplished is establishing a neighborhood group willing and able to act on our shared desire to ensure Virginia-Highlands remains at SPARK, Inman, and Grady. This meeting is open to the public but any votes taken will consider only Virginia-Highland residents.
