Councilman Julian Bond swore in Officer McGruff on Career Day

Atlanta’s favorite crime dog paid a visit to on Friday.

Officer McGruff, the Atlanta Police Department’s anti-crime campaign character, visited Springdale Park on Friday, May 4, as a part of Career Day.

Atlanta City Councilman Julian Bond swore in the officer, who was sporting a new look that was donated by Bond in an effort to promote outreach to kids.

During Springdale Park Elementary School Career Day, Atlanta Police officers spoke to first and second-graders about a future career as an Atlanta Police Officer and how the students can help the police by staying vigilant in their own communities.
