Springdale Park Elementary Recognized as "Green" School

Students featured in sustainability video

was granted the one of the highest certifications for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design this month.

The school was working toward "silver status," but recieved the gold certification by surprise, a parent at the school told Patch.

LEED — Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design — is an internationally-recognized green building certification system.

Springdale Park Elementary was also featured in a video that highlights the work of the U.S. Green Building Council and its High Performance, Healthy Schools Program. The program "helps Georgia school systems and private schools implement sustainability programs into their schools."
