Peachtree Road Race Registration Announced

The lottery opens Thursday, March 15.

The Atlanta Track Club, organizer of the which takes place each year on the Fourth of July, announced registration for the 2012 event will open on Thursday, March 15 through an online lottery at ajc.com/peachtree.

Those wishing to be one of the 60,000 participants selected for the 43rd running of the race can register for the lottery online from 7 a.m. on March 15 to 11:59 p.m. on March 22.

All individuals and groups who enter the lottery will have an equal chance of being selected for the 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race. Entrants will be randomly selected after the lottery closes on March 22 and notified by email. Searchable results of the selection process will also be posted online on March 26.

“The AJC Peachtree Road Race is a Fourth of July tradition, and for so many members of the Atlanta community, the Peachtree serves as an achievable fitness goal,” said Tracey Russell, executive director of the Atlanta Track Club and race director of the AJC Peachtree Road Race.  “The Atlanta Track Club is committed to helping Atlantans stay fit and healthy, and with the opening of the registration lottery in March, we are looking forward to another exciting event in 2012.”
