GDOT: I-85, Buford-Spring Connector Lane Closures Resume

Workers will be preparing footings for sign structures related to the soon-to-open I-85/Georgia State Route 400 interchange flyover ramps.

Following an extended holiday hiatus from construction-related lane closures, work resumes Friday and this weekend on limited stretches of Interstate Highway 85 and the Buford-Spring Connector.

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will close both the north and southbound HOV lanes on I-85 from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Saturday, between the Clairmont and Lenox/Cheshire Bridge interchanges.

Also, another GDOT contractor plans, weather permitting, to continuously close one inside (left) lane of Buford-Spring/State Route 13 in both directions from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday, between Monroe Drive and Lindbergh Road for bridge joints replacement. (One lane in each direction will remain open throughout this period.)

And on I-75 NB between SR 166 and Cleveland Avenue, three outside (right) lanes will be closed from 9 p.m., Saturday, until 5 a.m., Sunday, for similar work.
