The group wil focus on removing the bamboo grove.

This area has long been a hiding place for urban campers and an escaped camp fire last winter makes this project a needed priority for neighborhood security and safety.

We are now at a point where we can see that these cleanups really are contributing to the ongoing progress of the BeltLine trail system, and help to contribute to the safety of the users.

Volunteers are needed to make this three-hour project a success.

You can access the area from the Park Drive bridge area or from the Amsterdam Walk parking lot. If you are parking at Amsterdam, please put a note on your windshield stating you are at the BeltLine cleanup to notify their security folks.

Please wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, heavy shoes, gloves and bring along your water bottle.  If you have a favorite pair of sturdy loppers, bring them along.  Other supplies/tools will be provided via the ToolBank.

If you can help with this important community project - please send an RSVP e-mail to the point person, Shireen Herrington at sherrington@ctrxhs.com  so that enough tools will be on hand.

This project represents a good chance for high school students to earn some community service hours, but the venue is not suitable for younger children.
