Weekender: Piedmont Park Arts & Craft Fest

Five fun things to do this weekend in and around Virginia Highland and Druid Hills.



1. Art in the park. The third annual Piedmont Park Summer Arts & Crafts Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday with up to 250 artists and artisans expected to exhibit. Includes a cornhole tournament and a world record attempt that involves Hula Hoops. Free.

2. Live music.
At Blind Willie's, Houserocker Johnson on Friday and Sandra Hall on Saturday. At Limerick Junction, Sean Thomason Friday and Saturday and Bill Sheffield on Sunday. At the Family Dog, the Nathan Morgan Trio on Saturday and the Jez Graham Trio on Sunday.

3. Yoga for dogs.
Learn gentle stretches, massage and energy balancing for your dogs and yourself at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cafe of Life Chiropractic Center at 1030 Grant St., Atlanta. $20.

4.
True Stories at Kavarna. Local writers will share their stories, starting at 8 p.m. Friday at the coffee shop in Oakhurst Village. You can hear Charles McNair, Benjamin Carr and Emma Bolden. Free admission.

5. Decatur BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival. This annual summer festival will include games for kids, beer for adults and music for everybody. Starts at 4 p.m. Saturday in Harmony Village. $10 in advance, $15 at the gate.
