Soccer Playoffs: Paideia Advances to Final Four

Pythons defeat Hebron Christian

The Paideia School Pythons defeated Hebron Christian Academy 5-1 Friday night in the Class A boys state soccer quarterfinals. Paideia knocked off Hebron in front of a home crowd at Python Park in Avondale Estates, securing a Final Four berth and drawing one step closer to uncharted territory: a state championship. The Pythons had been absent from the second round of the playoffs since 2008, but advanced the the final four in 2011. Paideia will face Atlanta International School in the final four on Tuesday, May 15. The winner of the game will compete for the Class A state title. Sarah, try and process what I am about to write through that tiny little brain of yours; and really try to understand the important details before posting another idiotic reply. The horrible calls against AIS, were coincidentally, at critical moments that literally handed goals to Paideia. Paideia should work on actually scoring goals without the ref's help. Soccer Playoffs: Paideia Hosts Hebron Chr. in Elite 8 Friday

Pythons host Hebron Friday

The Paideia School Pythons will play Hebron Christian Academy on Friday in the second round of the boys soccer state playoff tournament. Paideia advanced to the Elite 8 of tournament play with a decisive 6-1 victory over Mt. Paran on Tuesday. Paideia lost to The Walker School Wolverines in the final four of the tournament last season. Paideia Teams Lose to Amherst in Ultimate Tourney

Lady Pythons fall 15-5 in semifinals

The Paideia School girls’ ultimate team lost to Amherst in the semifinals of the Amherst tournament on Sunday, May 6. The Pythons fell 15-5 to Amherst at the 21st Annual Amherst Invitational, one of the most competitive high school competitions in the country. Both the Amherst girls and boys team went on to win the tournament. The Paideia boys’ team lost to Amherst 15-6 in pool play. The Pythons had defeated Amherst just two weeks prior at home. State Playoffs: Druid Hills Soccer Falls in Penalty Kicks

Red Devils fall 7-6

The Druid Hills High School boys soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss Thursday night at Columbus. The Red Devils pushed No. 6 ranked Columbus to the brink in the Class AAA State Soccer Playoffs before coming up one shot short in a penalty kick shootout that went two full rounds. The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie in regulation and were still in the scoreless tie following the two five minute overtime periods. Druid Hills had an opportunity to win on their fifth penalty kick, but the goaltender from Columbus made a great save with inches to spare to send the game into the second round of penalty kicks. Columbus (15-2-1) was able to capitalize on the save and won the game 7-6 on its 10th penalty kick to advance in the state playoffs. …

Druid Hills Soccer Team Blanks Stone Mountain

Red Devils improve to 7-4

The Druid Hills High School boys soccer team shut out Stone Mountain High School 2-0 Friday night. Austin Weatherly and Momadue Jallow scored for the Red Devils. DeKalb County Golf Championships Set for Monday

79 boys and 38 girls compete for the individual and team titles on Monday

Mystery Valley Golf Club plays host to the DeKalb County Golf Championships for the seventh consecutive year as 79 boys and 38 girls compete for the individual and team titles on Monday, March 26. The guys start the day at 8 a.m. as two-time defending medalist Ryan Elmore of three-time defending champion Dunwoody tees off with the opening group. The girls begin at 11:54 a.m. as Dunwoody is set to defend its 2011 title. Elmore leads a group of six Dunwoody golfers including twp other Top 20 finishers from the Wildcats three-peat championship of a year ago. Seniors Will Trask and Cameron LaRose finished 20th and 14, respectively, in the 2011 tournament. Other Top 10 finishers from a year ago include runner-up senior Maram Macham of Columbia…

Paideia Girls Advance to State Playoffs

Pythons travel to Norcross to face Wesleyan School

The Paideia School girls basketball team is headed to the 2011-2012 GHSA State Basketball Tournament this weekend. The Paideia Pythons will travel to Norcoss on Friday, Feb. 24, to face Wesleyan School in the Class A matchup. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. The girls finished the season 20-8.
