CINS’ Annual Grady Cluster of Schools Showcase Wednesday

Wednesday night at Inman Middle School, the Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools will recognize the Grady cluster teachers who received CINS’ grant funding this year.

Please join the Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools (CINS) at its annual Schools Showcase where it will recognize the Grady cluster teachers who received CINS’ grant funding this year.  The showcase will take place on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Inman Middle School, located at 774 Virginia Avenue. There will be presentations from some of the teachers who received grant funding on how they used their grant funds to impact student education and growth in their classrooms.  This is the 29th year that CINS has awarded grant funds to teachers serving the Grady Cluster. Last CINS Community Meeting of 2012 set for Wednesday

School news to use includes information on group that advocates for the Grady schools cluster hosting “APS’ Human Resources – Hiring, Staffing, Leveling and Professional Development” discussion at Springdale Park Elementary School.

The Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools (CINS), the Atlanta nonprofit that advocates for the Grady schools cluster, will hold its on Wednesday at Springdale Park Elementary School. The program - “APS’ Human Resources – Hiring, Staffing, Leveling and Professional Development” - is scheduled to begin at noon. Join CINS as APS provides an update on what changes have been made in the Human Resources Division and how these changes will impact and improve the delivery of human resource services to Grady cluster schools. School Checklist: Remaining 2012 Grady Cluster Dates

CINS' community meeting on Wednesday will feature discussions focused on the state's common core performance standards and how they will impact teaching and learning in APS classrooms.

The Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools (CINS), the Atlanta nonprofit that advocates for the Grady schools cluster, has a calendar full of important dates these final weeks of 2012 including Wednesday's monthly community meeting. CINS’ community meetings are always free and open to the public. Please feel free to bring your own brown bag lunch and come and join others who are interested in the success of the Grady cluster. CINS to Host Town Hall Meeting with APS Superintendent

Martin talks redistricting, quality of education and more

Abby Martin, co-president of Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools, sat down with Patch to talk about Atlanta Public Schools redistricting. CINS is a nonprofit group that advocates for the Grady High School cluster. The Grady High cluster includes Centennial Place Elementary, Hope-Hill Elementary, East Lake Elementary, Mary Lin Elementary, Morningside Elementary, Springdale Park Elementary, Toomer Elementary, Coan Middle, Inman Middle, King Middle. CINS was wise not to get involved, because this process has pitted neighborhoods against each other, instead of focusing on the problem, which is the unequal schools. Like Ms. Martin notes, APS knows what/who great/good leaders and teachers are.
