Agricultural equipment manufacturer AGCO gifts a cleaner, more efficient tractor for park projects.
The Piedmont Park Conservancy (PPC) received a late 2012 gift when the Duluth-based agricultural equipment manufacturer AGCO delivered a new Massey Ferguson tractor, valued at nearly $50,000 to Piedmont Park. The new tractor joins the Conservancy’s current tractor, a Massey Ferguson 1180, which is used for maintaining, beautifying and improving the park. “We are thrilled to receive such a generous donation from AGCO,” said PPC President and CEO Yvette Bowden in a news release. “Support from Atlanta companies is crucial to the continued growth and maintenance of Piedmont Park. Goodwill of North Georgia is preparing for what will be its busiest donation rush of the year. We always receive our heaviest volume of donations from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31. Last year we received more than 87,000 donations during the last week of the year. The organization has more than 100 locations where you can drop off items. Making a donation can help families de-clutter items they’ve accumulated during the year and make room for new things they received for Christmas.
