Watch 12-12-12 Concert Live on Patch

The concert will benefit Hurricane Sandy victims, via the Robin Hood Foundation.

Some of the biggest names in music take the stage at Madison Square Garden for the live 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief. While thousands of people fill the arena, billions are watching live on a variety of screens worldwide.  The concert is streaming live on television networks, movie theater screens and on the Internet, including right here on Patch. The pre-event coverage begins at 4:00 p.m. EST and the concert is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. The all-star lineup includes Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who, and Paul McCartney, with other artists to be announced. 12-12-12 Concert to Benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims

Some of the biggest names in music will play at a benefit concert on Wednesday. All proceeds will go to Hurricane Sandy victims, via the Robin Hood Foundation.

Huge names in music are lending their talents to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts at the “12-12-12” concert on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Every penny sold from ticket sales will go directly to Sandy victims through the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which provides material, money and aid to local organizations that are serving families and individuals in the regions hardest hit by the storm, including over 200 Patch towns in New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island. The all-star lineup includes Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney, with other artists to be announced. Rosebud and The Family Dog to Aid Hurricane Sandy Victims

In a separate event, supermodel mom Heidi Klum, in partnership with the American Red Cross and Patch, will help distribute supplies to Sandy victims on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Update: Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 Word is that the "New York State of Mind" event has been postponed until a later date in January 2013. As soon as Patch knows more details, we will pass along. United Way of Greater Atlanta Joins in Hurricane Sandy Relief

Fund created to address recovery needs.

The United Way has set up a United Way Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund (#sandyfund). Contributions to the fund will be used by local United Ways along the Eastern Seaboard to address the recovery needs of communities most affected by the hurricane. In addition, the fund will be utilized to bolster United Way’s community impact partners that serve hurricane-affected individuals and families who are already vulnerable — struggling with food insecurity and the ability meet their most basic needs. Kroger Rounds Up Support for Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy

Customers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar – the difference benefiting the American Red Cross and its disaster relief efforts in the Northeast.

Kroger stores throughout the Atlanta Division are encouraging customers and associates to donate to the American Red Cross, which is providing shelter, meals, emotional support and other necessities to those affected by the deadly aftermath of Hurricane Sandy after it made landfall on Monday.
