Davis: 'The real issues here are middle schools'

APS Superintendent Erroll B. Davis, Jr. says the real issue in redistricting is at the middle school level

Atlanta Public Schools superintendent Erroll B. Davis, Jr. said Monday that the "real issue" in the redistricting process is at the middle school level. "We have 10,000 middle school students," Davis said. "We can’t put 10,000 students in Inman and Sutton." In a wide-ranging interview with Patch editors, Davis discussed the possibility of an expansion at Springdale Park Elementary, tax money for an expansion at Mary Lin and school closings in southwest Atlanta, among other topics. When asked directly about how the proposals address capacity issues at Inman Middle School, Davis said he is unsure.
