Solidarity event at Freedom Park Sunday for Newtown
Sunday afternoon, residents are encouraged to meet at the intersection of Freedom Parkway and Moreland Avenue to demonstrate that Atlanta cares for those who were so tragically affected by Friday’s mass killing at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.
Our Midtown Picture of the Day is actually that of a flyer for a Sunday event being held just east of the Midtown boundary. Organized by the Hipster Gardner, Atlantans are planning on gathering Sunday afternoon at Freedom Park to show solidarity with Newtown, Conn. From 12-4 p.m., residents are encouraged to “bring a sign, bring yourself, and bring a friend“ to the intersection of Freedom Parkway and Moreland Avenue to demonstrate that our city cares for those who were so tragically affected by Friday’s mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
