Whole Foods at 650 Ponce de Leon Ave. is having a free event for mothers on Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. The first 50 moms will get a free goodie bag. There also will be food samples, "mom-friendly" treats, makeup consultants and and chances to enter many prizes, Whole Foods said in a press release. The grand prize is a personal shopping and grocery delivery service, a $200 value, according to the release.

Whole foods is donating a portion of sales on Wednesday, Jan. 9 to the Georgia organization.
The Whole Foods Market on Ponce de Leon is helping to raise funds for Wholesome Wave Georgia, an organization that helps boost the value of food stamps used at farmers markets. Whole Foods has pledged to donate five percent of Wednesday's net sales to Wholesome Wave, which has agreed to use all of the funds it receives on its food stamp doubling program. Wholesome Wave Georgia board members and participating farmers will be at Whole Foods to meet shoppers. Live chef demonstrations will also be part of the event at midday and during the evening.
