By Lindridge Martin Manor Neighborhood Association Join noted coast wildlife expert John "Crawfish" Crawford for a tour of the Meadow Loop Trail on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The group will gather at the Armand Greenspace, 2366 Armand Rd., at 3:15 p.m. and walk over to the trail. The Meadow has been invaded by a coastal plant, Groundsel Bush (Baccharis halimifolia), a Georgia coastal native plant; frankly we do not know what to do about it. Although this plant produces blossoms that are a good late season source of food for pollinators, we are hoping that Mr. Crawford will be able to offer some expert advice on how to manage it. Given the prevalence of other invasive species such as kudzu, mimosa, privet, and Japanese honeysuckle, should we let …

Some residents were upset Monday over the format of the meeting, which was an informal discussion instead of a forum Q&A setting. Other residents and business owners were concerned the project was "a done deal" and lacked public input
Residents and businesses owners met with city officials Monday night about the proposed sewer tank and pumping station off Cheshire Bridge Road. "This is really a setup," LaVista Park resident Michelle Pearson said. "It’s clear the deal has already been closed." Many of the roughly 50 residents and business owners at the meeting agreed with Pearson and said the project lacked any public input and seemed to be a done deal. Watch the videos attached above to hear from business owners and residents. Plans include building one 10-million gallon, raised overflow tank off Cheshire Bridge Road at 2061 Liddell Drive. The tank would be about 25 feet tall and 185 feet wide, with a pumping station and electrical station on the flood plain at 2001 …

The following letter was sent to Lindridge Martin Manor residents by neighborhood association president Roxanne Sullivan: As a resident of the City of Atlanta, I am reaching out you each of you and bring to your attention an issue that will have profound negative long-term effects on residents in our neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. On July 12, 2012, the City's Zoning Review Board (ZRB) heard a rezoning application (Z-11-19) for an 18-acre property located at the intersections of Lindbergh Drive, Morosgo Drive, and Adina Drive, all located in the Northeast section of the City. The applicant has proposed developing approximately 18 acres of land to include a mixture of commercial and residential uses. The development would …

Influential members and associations in the community are urging those against the "big box" development to make their voice heard at Thursday's City of Atlanta ZRB meeting.
Those opposed to the proposal to rezone a parcel of land off Piedmont Road across from the Lindbergh MARTA station are voicing their opinion ahead of Thursday's City of Atlanta Zoning Review Board meeting at 6 p.m. One strong voice is NPU-B Chair and North Buckhead resident Sally Silver, who made a statement Tuesday afternoon about the hotly debated issue. "The application filed with the City of Atlanta rezones 21 acres of residential parcels to commercial use. The proposed use is not consistent with the current zoning (Special Public Interest District-15) and is suburban rather than urban in design. NPU-B recommended denial of the rezoning as well as the companion Comprehensive Development Plan amendment (CDP-11-06)." Silver is urging …

Gino’s to replace the shuttered Franco’s
Pizza lovers in the neighborhood have something to look forward to this summer. Gino’s NY Pizza — based in Peachtree Corners — will open a second location on 1740 Cheshire Bridge Rd. next month. The Italian restaurant will move into the shuttered Franco’s Pizza location. The 3,750 square-foot restaurant will have 150 seats and a full bar pending a liquor license. The Lindridge Martin Manor Neighborhood Association voted Wednesday night to recommend approval of the liquor license. The next step in the process is a recommendation from the neighborhood planning unit, approval from the liquor license review board and finally the official stamp of approval from Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.
