School Janitor Indicted on Child Pornography Charges

Tucker man worked at Paideia School in DeKalb County.

A school janitor from Tucker has been indicted on charges that he received child pornography and created pornographic images and videos of minors, according to a release from the Department of Justice. Josh Ensley, 51, who worked at the Paideia School in Atlanta, was arraigned in federal court today, Thursday, Nov. 29, before United States Magistrate Judge Russell G. Vineyard. He is accused of filming boys and girls in the school's bathrooms and remains in federal custody. Ensley was arrested after investigators found child pornography on a computer at his Tucker home. Between September 2008 and March 2011, Ensley is said to have ordered over 50 DVDs containing images of child pornography and child erotica from a website based outside the …

Paideia Students to Dedicate Native Plant Garden

From Design to Full Bloom, Eighth Graders Cultivate Sustainable Wildlife Habitat

Martha Caldwell’s eighth grade class at The Paideia School created a National Wildlife Federation certified native plant garden. The students designed the garden themselves, applied for grants and held plant sales to raise funds, cultivated the soil, selected the plants and have cared for the garden over the school year. “It was fun to learn about native plants and work together to create something beautiful,” said eight-grade student Erica Winston. An official dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the garden is set for Friday, May 11, at 8:30 a.m. at Paideia, 1509 Ponce De Leon Ave. After receiving a sustainability grant from Paideia, the students worked with EcoAddendum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating native habitats…

Paideia Student Receives Teen Volunteer Award

Ari Allen honored for philanthropic efforts

Ari Allen, a student at The Paideia School, was honored by the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals this month as one of the teen volunteers of the year. From the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals: Allen is the founder of "Kosher Crew Atlanta," which was designed to inspire teens to be active conservationists. He also helped create "Teens for Teens," which provides music and dance concerts for the youth of Israel. He is a volunteer for various organizations, including the Susan B. Komen Race for a Cure, Habitat for Humanity and plays in a jazz band, "The Majestics," which performs for senior citizens and the developmentally disabled. Allen also serves as Co-President …
