ReplyPut a coffee shop in the library, make it like Borders / B&N. Those places draw in tons of people. Let's get people in the building with the books & computers their taxes already bought.

ReplyWhat, no one called the cops? Ask somebody who's had a loved one murdered by a drunk driver what they would do. In real reality, yeah, people drive around buzzed. And, uh, yeah, please don't do that. Drink some coffee, eat a pancake, chill for a little while. #WaffleHouse

Yes, it seems like there's a lot of misinformation about this rule. Some Midtown residents told me they'd called the city and the city insisted there is no two-hour gratis. To make it more complicated, some residential parking zones are created by ordinance, others by administrative rule. But the free parking is in law and, according to what I heard at the Committee, actually does apply on all the streets with "resident-only" parking. Now, whether the public or anyone else much knows that is not exactly clear.

State-level lobbyists are supposed to always wear their badges at the state Capitol or in state government offices (say, if they go to a meeting of the state Board of Education for example). Essentially, when they're "on-duty."
